Keto.. Not just for Weightloss
By now there is a chance you have heard about the Keto diet. Most will bag it not really understanding it. It defiantly isn't for everyone, but for some people its been life changing not only for their physical health but their brain health to.
What is Keto?
The ketogenic diet is a very low-carb, high-fat diet that shares many similarities with the Atkins and low-carb diets. It involves heavily reducing your carbohydrate intake and replacing it with a higher fat intake. The reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis.
When your body runs out of glycogen the body switches to burning fat as its main energy source. Many experience great weight loss result from a ketogenic diet.
I'm not here to really talk about the Keto diet though. I'm here to talk about Exogenous Ketones.
Typically most would see them as a supplement that could help a person achieve ketosis while being slightly less strict regarding what they eat. If this is you then you probably need to reassess if you truly want to be doing a Keto Diet.
For me my own personal experience I love and use Exogenous Ketones for all the other benefits they possess while still being able to eat all food groups including carbohydrates.
These Benefits are;
More efficient brain function
Appetite controlling
Anti inflammatory
Increase in cognitive function
Ketones bypass the glucose transport system. they provide the mitochondria of your brain cells (Mitochondria is the power house) with an alternative source of energy that significantly enhances brain function and helps to reduce cognitive decline. This is a reason ketones are recommended for those suffering Alzheimer's.
Using Ketones before training is a great way to enhance focus and increase energy without the stimulants of other typical workouts or fat burners.
